+ INFRASTRUCTURE MAPPING MODULE [Graduate Teaching]
MEDIA MODULE / SPRING 2018 - ongoing
The Shape of Infrastructure
MEDIA | URBAN SYSTEMS | COMPARATIVE URBAN MORPHOLOGIES | REPRESENTATION | COMPUTATION
This teaching module is part of a studio pedagogy focused on the concept of infrastructure as interactions between urban form, experience, and system that vary in space and time.
Using a grasshopper script, students re-code sections studies of cities to bolster digital tooling, multi-media, and representation skills. Module 1, Intensifying Infrastructure, shown here, asked students to design a novel infrastructural context of multiple social, biophysical, and technological systems - one of many form-finding exercises that help beginning designers start a project.
